Daddy takes the plunge

From the minute Luke walked in the door on Tuesday, Dante was after him to go back to the swimming hole. So, off we went, and Daddy got a chance to try out the rope swing.

Dante hovers nearby offering pointers and reassurance.

Whoaaaahhh!!

I spotted this cool-lookin dove on a tree right in front of us. Look at the red feet!

Lucia and Dante are ready to escort Daddy across to the swing.

Lucia offers a critique of Daddy's last few jumps on the rope swing.

Over near the rope swing, two downed trees cross each other. Underneath seems to be a favorite hangout for teenage trout. The other day Dante and I spotted maybe 30 or 40 lurking in a neat row in this spot. So naturally the boys had to get their net and muck up their haven.

Gotcha!

Meanwhile, Lucia was looking for some dinner and was disappointed to find that I had brought only some water and sunflower seeds. To make them more appetizing, I started making shapes out of the seeds. At her request, I made the above image of cousin Dave trying to tickle Lucia. She knelt down and gobbled the scene up like a goat.

Time to go! Put your shoes on with a flourish and head to the car.
