a berry good day

Kathy and I arranged to meet at the blueberry patch on Thursday. We were running late (shocker) because first, an enormous turkey vulture swooped through our yard, so of course we had to follow it into the woods, and take this really grainy pic of him:

And then cousin Maria, Adam and Aunt Toni popped over on the way to the beach from the airport to say hello and meet the chicks. Whom Dante promptly let escape all over the yard, so we spent their entire visit herding our feathered friends.

We finally arrived at Belltown Hills, and took the tractor ride to the berry fields and met more cousins.

Dante probably picked almost half the day's take. He was a man with a mission!

Baby Julian, not having oodles of fun in the sun, found a shady spot in his carseat and offered this sweet smile.

Afterwards, we went to recuperate at Kathy's house and have some lunch. While the mac and cheese boiled, the kids gathered some costumes and climbed the big rock in the shady front yard.
