thin ice

We took a walk to the wetlands tonight after dinner to check out the ice. It didn't really seem to be very thick, so we didn't venture far from the shore. I love the grassy humps in the background. It also started to snow while we were out. Hopefully sledding tomorrow -- whee!

Slick joined us at one point, followed by a Slick-search-party consisting of Lynn, Chucky, Molly and Star, the only puppy left. Who is now named Mack by the owner who will claim him on Saturday. He's the sweetest puppy. He might visit us for a little while tomorrow, a treat for a snowy day.

Lucia doing "the rocket": she puts her feet against the "bank" and pushes herself across the ice.

Snow had already covered the deck by the time we got back, so we spent some time outside writing our names in the white.
