Our first letterbox!

On Tuesday we went to Pine Brook Nature area to place our first letterbox. But first, a stop at Lynn's to check out how big the puppies have grown. I forgot to snap a picture of the stamp we made, but it's an image of the Lorax from the Dr. Seuss story. For more on letterboxing, see letterboxing.org.

Mason and Lucia wait patiently as Dante fills out his entry in the letterbox journal.

All wrapped up and ready to go.

baby bunnies!

Our friend Claire has begun to breed her Angora bunnies. She had to go out of town, and one of the potential moms wasn't quite due to deliver, so she asked if we'd watch her until she was back. In case our visitor had her kits early, during her stay with us, Claire brought the one and two day old kits from other litters to show us what's what.

Mmmmmm tasty snow.

I shoveled out a play area for the chickens as well so they could escape the coop.

And as a treat for our two most frequent commenters, Maria and David, this one's for you: the house they put on the corner at the beach. Not all that different than what they'd knocked down ...

the wee hours of Christmas morn

Dante woke up when I went to bed around 3:40, and never went back to sleep. He waited very patiently, having tiptoed downstairs to scope the stocking scene a couple of times. Finally, around 8am he could wait no more, so he woke us all up and down we went. He was pretty tired.

Ooooh, sparkly stuff to glue onto non-sparkly sleep.
